Author’s Notes: Pure fluff! I know it's silly, but I really liked the idea, and it was a ton of fun to write. Comments and concrit are much loved, but please be gentle.

Additional Info: I'm not fond of LJ's policies in regards to creative works, so I'm linking to the fic on Dreamwidth instead of posting it here. I'd prefer you leave feedback on that entry, not this one. To do so, you may either comment anonymously or login with OpenID by going here, entering your LJ journal URL (username.livejournal.com), and following the instructions.

Okay, I'm not sure if anyone remembers me, but I found something recently and knew I would be remiss if I didn't immediately share it with y'all. I guess it's possible everyone has seen it already this, but I wanted to share it just in case, because oh my christ, it is the holy goddamn grail of Blixa pictures.

I'll post something soon. I PROMISE. Eh, before I do, perhaps there's something the lovely members of this community would like to see? A certain pairing, a theme, something like that. I was thinking of doing an AU, an assload of 'chapters' or 'parts' or whatever, anything we'd like to see happen with that? I'm stuck with writer's block and a little push would help, ha.

Google is telling me that Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds once did a cover of the song "Gently Johnny," and yet nowhere can I find mention of where this recording exists or when it was ever performed. Does anyone know??

I hope this post is all right? I read the rules and it wasn't, uh, completely ruled out, so... I'm not trying to make trouble, I promise. I'm going to call it meta/discussion except really it's just about me looking for people to talk to.

Anyway. I'm not really new to this fandom at all, but I am a complete newbie when it comes to contributions. To put it bluntly, I want to write raunchy slash fic for this community, damn it all, but I work best at all if I've got other people to bounce ideas off of. Do you want to be that person? Let's be friends then, 'k? I primarily ship Nick/Blixa, I like everything from crack to angst, I'm jonesin' for this fandom to live - so, come on, let's discuss gay sex.

The magazines were newspaper-sized, which is significantly larger than my scanner can fit at once, but I tried to get the best parts of the full-page pictures. Some of them are also slightly askew. Sorry.

Here are scans of Nick in NME 1984, 1988, and 1986 and Blixa in Sounds 1987:Collapse )

I was browsing through this vintage magazine shop in Soho this afternoon, saw their giant section of original music magazines from 1980-now, and ended up sitting on their floor for hours going through every single stack of them. Here's what I found (that pertains to this community, that is): six different issues with Nick on the cover, one with The Birthday Party (although the cover picture was a close-up of just Nick), one with the Immaculate Consumptives (which, I would think, is pretty rare), one with Blixa, and one that said "Collapsing New Buildings" with a picture of Mark Chung by himself on the cover (which I almost didn't recognize at first as being Neubauten because of the name translation).

Anyway, I bought three with Nick on the cover (NME '84, '88, and '96) and the one with Blixa (Sounds '87). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to flip through the ones I didn't buy because they were in sealed plastic covers, but the ones I did buy have some great interviews I'd never read and some pictures I'd never seen before. I can't scan them now because I'm in my dorm and don't have a scanner, but when I go home for reading week in early November I'll scan them (if anyone's interested).  I suppose that makes this sort of a useless post, but I was really excited about getting these. Also, I could probably be persuaded to buy a couple more, especially the Birthday Party and Immaculate Consumptives issues. I hid them at the bottom of the stack that was lowest to the ground just in case (as if other people would be clamoring to buy them).
